A group of activists were detained by Moscow police this week as they attempted to deliver a petition that demands official investigation into the reported persecution of gay men in #Chechnya, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports. More than 2 million people had signed them. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he would look into reports that gay men there were being kidnapped, tortured, and killed, but Ramzan Kadyrov, leader of the Chechen republic, has denied that gay people live there.
