Today marks the preview opening of @labiennale. 61 years back, Artek celebrated the inauguration of Alvar Aalto’s Finnish Pavilion in Giardini, made for the Venice Biennale. Spot Alvar Aalto to the far left, Elissa Aalto and Artek co-founder Maire Gullichsen – who commissioned Aalto for the pavilion – front row centered.
