In less than 2 weeks, @harleyquinnsmith_ graduates from high school. This pic is from her first day of Pre-K - which feels like it was last week. Jen and I had driven Quinnster to the Hollywood Schoolhouse and then rolled PlayDoh with her until she'd found a friend and didn't need us anymore. Over the course of nearly 18 years spent trying to figure out this parent thing (with no previous experience) in the midst of having to actually parent a child, you learn that is essentially HOW to be a parent: you stick around until you're not needed anymore. I'm proud as heck that the kid's been such a great student and can regurgitate facts and figures she's been taught but I'm even prouder of the independent woman she's become and the choices she's making. Every day the kid impresses me with who she is - even when we don't see eye-to-eye. I can't say Jen and I have been the perfect parents, yet we still wound up with what I consider to be a perfect daughter.
