It's been a long day waiting for news from the vet on the emaciated puppies we rescued in Los Angeles yesterday. We are heartbroken to report that the weakest passed away despite the doctor's best efforts to keep the life from escaping her small body. She was too malnourished and eaten alive by a parasite infestation, and nothing could keep her hanging on. We are so angry that the people who dumped them waited so long before doing so that at least one has perished... our fingers are crossed and we are praying with all our might for the rest of these babies. If you are hearing this for the first time, someone dumped a box full of emaciated puppies at an adoption event in Los Angeles yesterday where one of our directors was helping a partner group. A backyard breeder brought this box over, 9 puppies from three different litters... all were covered in urine and feces and underweight, some extremely boney. They are now at the vet in critical care, and we are so grateful to those of you who have already made donations to save their lives.
