23 years ago today, Ayrton Senna died in a car accident in Imola. That was the last race that I watched for more than 20 years. I've recapitulated my life in a very thorough way, and one of those memories that I relived in that process, was when around 10 years after Ayrton left his body, my uncle told me that there was this new British driver that's killing it in Formula 1 whose hero was/is Ayrton and that I should watch him. I said: "That's great but thanks, I can't watch Formula 1 anymore, but if this new guy's hero is Ayrton, I wish him the best, he'll get far". Move forward 10 more years approximately and well, you know what happened next in that story. This is how funny Existence works: Takes something away from you only to give you something back but now taylor made to your Heart.
The moments of happiness and excitement that Ayrton brought to millions of us will never be forgotten. Every Sunday Morning with Ayrton racing, Brazil's population grew at least 100 million because all Mexicans were Brazilian for those 2 hours. And when Ayrton left his body on that Sunday, all of us cried for weeks. My whole school was super sad and silent. A huge loss not only for Formula 1 but to Humanity. With Love and respect to Ayrton Senna and the Brazilian people, not only from me but from all of us that Love him and continue to be influenced by him.
