Today the stars align: it's National Pet Parents Day AND Adopt a Shelter Pet Day! Of the 5 to 7 million animals that go into shelters each year, about 3-4 million are euthanized... costing taxpayers about 2 billion bones a year! About a third of Americans think animals should have the same rights as people and 62% think they deserve some legal protection... So why not plan a trip to your nearest rescue shelter today? You could save a life and become a crazy cat (or dog) person at the same time!!! ???
(Remember though: adopting a pet is a serious thing, you must be able to care and provide for him/her during many years: it's a blessing and lot of fun but it's also a real and serious commitment!)
