today is the day -- if you have @Hulu Home of Emmy-winning please watch. If you don't, please get it. I had the honor of directing and EP'ing the pilot & also episodes 2&3 of an adaptation of the great Margaret Atwood's THE HANDMAID'S TALE. Here I am with my creative partner, the inimitable @エリザベス・モス. Shot by right hand man on the series, the super genius of light, @colinwatkinson, who occasionally let me operate the camera because he felt sorry for me that I was having withdrawal. By the way, there seems to be some debate about whether or not the creators think this show is a feminist show and it's political. Well let me tell you what I think. That was taken out of context. There is no debate. IT IS FEMINIST. IT IS POLITICAL. It's also about men (imagine that?) and women and children and LGBT and blacks and whites- crazy concept, right? It's about how NO ONE is safe if any one single group's rights start being stripped away. It WILL eventually affect us all. The episodes are up on @Hulu Home of Emmy-winning now. You might want to watch simply to find out what's to come, if we all don't get off our asses and do something. •••
