The Princess Royal presents Sylvia Evason with an MBE at an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Sylvia helped to establish the charity 'the Jennyruth Workshop', which provides a productive workshop for adults with learning disabilities and difficulties to gain work and life skills.  The Workshop employs disabled adults who gain a sense of pride from making and selling a wide range of wooden and hand crafted products, and it was awarded the highest level of The Duke of York's Award for services to the local community.

An Investiture is a very special day when someone who has been awarded an honour receives their award from a Member of The Royal Family. Honours are awarded to those who have made achievements in public life and can be nominated by members of the public.
