The Beastie Boys. LICENSE TO ILL exploded thru my youth like a lightening bolt growing up in the LBC. "Paul Revere" "Hold It Now Hit It" was blasting out of every lowered Nissan mini truck cruising around the AM/PM. I ran out to world famous @viplongbeach shop and got the LP. Everything about it felt subversive to my young ears. The not-so-subtle EAT ME written on the album cover to screaming about your mom throwin' away your best porno mags. When this opportunity came to jump on a flight to shoot the Beasties in NYC for @Flaunt Magazine I jumped on a plane immediately. We shot these in the Hello Nasty offices and doing a photo shoot was the LAST thing they wanted to do that afternoon. At least Ad-Rock gave me a teeny weenie bit of energy. I don't hold it against them as I have come to learn that sometimes you just get unlucky and catch people on the wrong day. Such a shame,however,when I look back on it I can still say "yeah,i shot MCA,Mike D & AdRock of Rock n Roll Hall of Fame members The Beastie Boys"
