“My Instagram name is @goldenpolaroid, but I don’t actually own a Polaroid,” admits Myles Loftin, the 19-year-old photographer and multimedia artist behind the handle. His gorgeous portraits across film and digital showcase young models, artists, or his friends, in vivid color or powerful black and white. “I love the exchange of energy that happens when I photograph someone,” he says. Each gram feels sun-drenched, whether it shows an indoor casting call or a nighttime protest. “Consistency is one of the most important factors of creating a great feed,” Myles tells Teen Vogue. He maintains that consistency by posting photos that have a similar vibe and spread positivity. “Pretty much everything can inspire me,” he says; “I hope that with my Instagram, I can inspire young artists, especially young artists of color, to pursue their dreams.” One of his thoughtful captions on his latest self-portrait, signs off by saying “Keep creating :)” Sounds like a plan ?
