The statistics say that if you climb for a decade there's a 75% chance of suffering an injury. And 90% of the time that injury is a finger.

After I hurt my finger it was nice to meet up with @sebbouin to shoot him on the Democratica link/up. We shot his attempts, rapped about climbing and projects, we talked about injuries, healing and the psychological aspects of it. It was great to connect with someone who enjoys a similar style of climbing and who was/is in the same boat as me. Seb is a solid guy and someone who I admire. However, what was more fruitful about that day was gaining an insight into the ebs and flows of our bodies as climbers.
When we find our limits in climbing we're automatically risking injury and setbacks. Sometimes judgment and care can't even be entertained and it might be too late. This is the inherent risk and the game we play.
The healing process can be a positive experience (as I'm learning) and if we allow it to teach us things and give us better insight into our own climbing... It can only make us better, stronger and hungrier to return to what we love.
Stay healthy my friends.

Thanks for the vibe Seb.
Enjoy
