@realnewyorktours, a 10-year-old, family-run company, is offering a week of free walking tours for 150 Syrian refugees who were recently resettled in New Jersey. On Tuesday, our staff photographer @heislerphoto tagged along as 5 families — 25 Syrian refugees in all — saw the sights in New York City. Their day started in front of Penn Station in Manhattan. After introductions, they walked into Times Square’s electric frenzy, and soon hopped on a subway to @centralparknyc. After watching the sea lions at the Central Park Zoo, the children lined up at the #CentralPark carousel, where @heislerphoto captured this moment. Their $3 tickets bore a familiar name: Trump. (In 2010, President Trump restored the #carousel, and his company signed a lease through 2020 to operate it.) “We see some poetic justice in it,” said Shawn Lynch, a Real New York Tours guide.
