?(KUTV) Another cat has been abused in Davis County within 20 days and about a block from where Sage the cat was found back in March. The Humane Society of Utah is issuing a $3,000 cash reward to bring a stop to the ongoing animal cruelty.
On Mar. 29, Davis County Animal Care & Control reported a non-fatal abuse of an orange tabby male cat near 500 East and Lynnwood Drive in Clearfield. This is within a block of where Sage the cat was discovered. The injured 1-year-old cat is in the care of a veterinarian and is expect to survive, according to animal control. It appears to be domestic with medium length hair. Sage the cat was found on Mar. 9, the orange tabby cat was found Mar. 29.
"We do not know for sure if the same person who tortured and killed Sage is responsible for abusing this cat,” said Deann Shepherd, a representative with the Human Society of Utah. “This case may be unrelated but coincidentally close in proximity, or the investigation may find that they are connected. We are offering a reward to help find information to solve this case as it stands. We strongly believe that the abuse of animals is a concern for our community and the person responsible needs to be apprehended.”
