Feels so amazing to see trees stretch to the sky. It wasn't always this way when I lived here. I thought the trees were going to be washed away in 2011. I thought the earthquake and tsunami would have made everything I hold dear disappear. Anyone who experienced 11.3.2011 would feel their life uprooted. For me, it showed me that everything we’ve built around our world that we have doesn’t really matter. It was a complete reset because nothing worked, we couldnt go on with life as usual. I reconnected myself back to nature and the people around me. My family healed me. You know who you are. I found my husband. I healed with their help. As horrible as it may sound, I think everyone should at least once in their life come close to losing their grip. To learn to love from loss. Understanding what it means to lose everything and then find life again amongst the pieces. We have the power to choose how the experience will shape our future. My life changed 360 that day and every time I come back to Japan I admire the trees, the growth admist devastation and grief. Today we are celebrating Easter. Loving life and being alive has more meaning when we can appreciate it from a place of gratitude. Happy Easter Sunday everyone. Xoxo
