The art-house revival is still going strong. Now, #NewYork’s original 4-screen movie theater is back. @quadcinema, which opened in Greenwich Village in 1972, has received a modern makeover in the midst of what could be called a boom, with recent arrivals like @alamonyc in Brooklyn and @metrographnyc in Manhattan. “You could watch a movie on an iPhone or on a tablet or on a TV screen at home,” said Charles S. Cohen, the movie-loving entrepreneur behind the new @quadcinema. “But I still think that it’s important to have a place to go to experience film in a community.” @quadcinema will re-open with a 50-foot-long concession stand, a wine-and-beer bar, and screening rooms with projection to accommodate 4K-resolution, 35-millimeter, 16-millimeter and 3-D films. @heislerphoto took this photo inside @quadcinema while on #nytassignment.
