We’re delighted to announce another Asian Elephant calf is on the way at Taronga Western Plains Zoo! Experienced mother Porntip is expecting her second calf in July 2018. It’s an exciting time for the conservation breeding program for this endangered species, with Pak Boon preparing to welcome her calf here in Sydney in mid 2017. This successful breeding program has been an important catalyst for Taronga’s work in the field with governments and conservation agencies in Asia to help turn around the decline of Asian Elephants #tarongawesternplainszoo
