We are in deep grief and sorrow to learn of the death of Tut, mother of dominant male orangutan Tom. Tut died recently from a miscarriage. As orangutans get older, pregnancy gets harder. Tut was in her late 40's and a dear friend to all at Camp Leakey where she lived. Our hearts go out to Dr Birute Mary Galdikas @DrBirute and all the staff at Camp Leakey and OFI as they mourn this tragic loss.
