Last week, I had the honor of meeting #KimberlCrenshaw (who coined the term "intersectional feminism,"- Google it if you don't know what it is bc we all should) and attending a week of free programming by the @aapolicyforum at the @hammer_museum . The events focused on centering the experiences of black women and girls, that way too often get left behind in discussion of "mainstream feminism" because they don't impact white women personally. But we can't truly fight for gender equality if we are telling women, girls and gender non-conforming people of color that issues of race are separate from the fight for gender equality. They are and should always be a part of that fight. #SayHerName #BureauOfFeminism
