Because I used to be a little girl dreaming of one day going to the Olympics. Because I wasn't highly recruited out of high school. Because I was told to quit after injuries. Because I was never an All-American in University. Because I was told I'd never make a Canadian team in the 100m Hurdles. That's what fuels my fire. Very few looked at me and saw a potential Olympian, much less a 3x Olympic finalist. But an unwavering belief in self can take you places you've only dreamed of. It doesn't always come easy. And sometimes you have to take the longer path to the same destination. Comparing yourself to what others are doing on their journey is what sidetracks us.
