Spoon just released their ninth studio album, ‘Hot Thoughts.’ Frontman Britt Daniel spoke with us about the album and how he was affected by the deaths of both David Bowie and Prince. “Other than the Beatles, if I had to pick anyone that has affected me that I could point to consciously having affected our songs, it would be Prince and Bowie,” he says. “To lose them both in one year was just ... heavy.” The group also discussed a recent jam session with Skrillex, dabbling with saxophone and more.
