Certain days your absence hits me like a ton of bricks. I wade through the waves of memories and tears as I grasp for gratitude. Time rushes forward with no mercy on my heart. Another year without you and it doesn't feel easier, you only feel further away. I am aware the pain I feel is only known because of the depth of your love. Forever without you isn't something I still know how to grasp. I move forward, one day at a time, with your words beating in me, your spirit filling my soul, your legacy inspiring me, your strength guiding me, your life my example, and your love eternally present. Three years ago today you took your last breath... with every one I take I live in gratitude for you Granny. I can only hope to be half the human you were.
I remember when I used to leave her farm she would make me kick her in the butt, she did it so we would laugh through our "goodbye" tears! She would giggle and then grab my face, kiss me and say it's not forever it's "see you soon." Until then... I love you. #DD #Fcancer
