Dear fellow actors...
I know there is a culture of making us believe we are the end all be all. We get chairs to rest our skinny asses on, we have PA's running to get us coffee and snacks, we get days off, we cut in line at meal time, we wait in trailers (old or new, nice or not) but we get our personal space to fart or take a slow crap at our leisure right?
So why must some of you be pestering divas?
Why oh why?
I suggest we take a look around. Observe the crew you are surrounded by. Watch them work. Find your reflection in them.
I will assure you that if you see yourself in them, you will never get a 5th hairstylist fired or bitch because the scene has taken too long and you want to get home.
Filmmaking is about team work.
We are not more or less valuable than anyone else.
Look at this picture. These men are warriors.
After this scene was done, I got to put a robe on, I drank a warm cup of tea, and was quickly transported to land before these guys even made it out of the water they had been in for many hours.
I remember wondering why is it this way.
Who thought it smart to put us on pedestals?
So be kind ladies and gents.
Be humble. Be human.
And if you choose to not be these things, at least be smart enough to know that these guys could make you look really bad.
Also, word in this industry travels quicker than light...so leave the diva at the door and have the actor walk through.
