How many things have you felt ashamed of in your life? How about on a daily basis? We have been taught from a young age to feel embarrassed about our bodies, our personalities, our mistakes, our achievements. And we continue to be brainwashed day after day about what is "important" to be - to know - to have - by tv advertising, tabloid drama and your Instagram feed. What and when are we actually ALLOWED to be comfortable with ourselves? Well, I don't think that should be up to anyone but us. My mission coming out of my teen years has been to identify the things that crushed and controlled me, then challenge them and counteract them. It's a daily process and among other things, I have given up on push up bras, I've let go of shaving my legs, I no longer believe that being a certain weight or shape will make me happy, or that I have to change the way I dress to fit my environment like a chameleon. I ebb and flow like everything else in the universe and my decisions empower me; they are no longer made after deliberating the expectations of others and the fear that I may be judged. That fear does not belong to me and I don't have to carry the weight anymore. ✨ If you want liberation you gotta make it happen! Stop buying the products they're telling you will enhance your life. Stop idolising the people who are publicising their ego trap. Stop engaging with the voices of pressure and insecurity. Start SEEING YOURSELF THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE! Start a gentle reintroduction to yourself and honour all that you discover. Start the journey towards loving all that is. It is not the overnight fix that we've been trained to know in our world of all things immediate. It's a long, soul fulfilling path that winds and wanders. So enjoy the trip! ✨ My message here is, support yourself. Honestly and deeply. Support your brothers and sisters. Support each others needs and choices to disagree and disassociate with what the world is telling you and demanding from you. All we can do is learn to identify and recognise these symptoms, make changes to better suit us and gently and naturally show others it's ok to do the same. ✨ Join me on my Facebook page for more discussion like this
