The cat simbol made of usually ceramic is the ones that is called welcome cat or luky cat in the States.
The one that raising it's right hand is said to be inviting money fortune and the one raising left hand means inviting good people.
In general, as you see in the picture, it has usually three differen colors. However, there are some cats with different colors such as white, red, black, pink, blue and gold, etc.
It is said that the one with blue is good for school score improvement and safty against traffic accident.
The one with pink is good for lovers. The black one is to attack evils and red one is for keeping good health. Each color shows different meaning and fortune.
