#OnThisDayInHistory in 1934, Mildrid “Babe” Didrikson became one of the first women to pitch in an @MLB game. Didrikson pitched a no-hitter first inning for the Philadelphia Athletics against the Brooklyn Dodgers, allowing only one walk. An acclaimed athlete, Didrikson struck out baseball great Joe DiMaggio, earned three track and field medals at the 1932 Olympics, and won 82 golf tournaments. Nicknamed “Babe” after Babe Ruth, Didrikson showed the world that women have a place in sports. #NWHM #WomensHistory #womenshistorymonth
