There is a quiet in between the stillness of winter and the blossoms of spring and I feel like my heart has been ruminating in that space lately. The organism of the internet can be such a dynamic entity, no? We have the opportunity to connect and form strong friendships with the most wonderful of souls globally that we may have otherwise never encountered. And the beauty and talent of people's creative expressions are endless, evolving and inspiring beyond words. Yet there are some limitations. For me one is the balance of being a private person and distinguishing where the line for needed retreat and autonomy is without inadvertently coming off as distant, aloof or unfriendly. And another big one is the lack of in-person presence. There is so much more to an overall picture when another soul is sitting with you eye to eye. It's not as easy to quickly size up, dismiss, make snap judgements or assume. Energy and perspective are limited when physical presence is absent. And this is what I miss in a world of so much connectivity. So with a new week ahead, here's to a more mindful lens, giving the benefit of the doubt, assuming the best if there is to be any assumption at all, and to try reaching out if there is any static or disconnection felt. We're more alike in our humanity than not. And on that, I wish you all a most beautiful start to the week and that somewhere in it pleasant and happy surprises find you. •
