#tbt to me and @デヴィッド・ジュントーリ volunteering with @mealsonwheelsamerica in Portland a few years ago. Trump's budget cuts are infuriating. Particularly cuts to legal aid for the poor, low-income heating assistance, job-training programs for seniors and at-risk youth, and Meals on Wheels (don't even get me started on the EPA and the NEA). My grandma and I used to deliver with Meals On Wheels. She didn't stop until she was in her mid 80s. It's a terrific organization that provides help to many hungry, elderly, lonely, housebound people and I was sick to my stomach today when Mulvaney said the organization "doesn't show results" and "doesn't work." It delivers food to people who are hungry, then they eat the food. IT WORKS.
