Saturday writing.

These are my favorite notebooks to use for writing Doom Patrol. Maruman Mnemosyne 199’s. Each notebook holds about two issues worth of notes, and then those get organized into Beat Sheet documents and then into Page Breakdowns and then scripting begins. Early dialogue also fills the pages of these notebooks. Hand writing is an important part of the process, and I generally use fountain pens for that. My current favorites are a Pilot Metropolitan (extremely inexpensive) and a Pilot Custom 74 (a little pricier), both with Medium nibs. With this particular notebook (Doom 3), I was able to finish Issue 6 with about a quarter of the notebook left, so the rest of this notebook is dedicated to Arc 2 and Issue 7, until I run out of pages, then it’s time to start a new notebook. What I’m doing today is going through the first 2 notebooks and grabbing anything that didn’t make it into Arc 1 and transcribing some of those notes into my notes for Arc 2. A ton of notes were created for Arc 1, and I’d say only about half of my ideas made it into the first series— there just wasn’t enough space to fit it all into 6 issues.
