Left home at 5.45am ? to attend the @theirworldorg #RewritingTheCode breakfast meeting. So, so worth it. I sat and listened to amazing women talking about ways we can empower each other and the generation rising up after us. About how we can close the gender gap in the arts, in business and in humanitarian work. Ultimately it starts with us, as individuals, standing up and leading by example. Something I ALWAYS do is apologise for myself. I say 'sorry about my hair' or 'sorry I'm this or that'. Yesterday I apologised to someone for my tee shirt choice!!! How can I stand and lead as a powerful, thoughtful woman when I am so busy telling everyone how inferior all my choices are?! So, I'm going to try and cut it out. I'm not sorry for my hair being fluffy and to the woman at the school gates who mocked my Mickey Mouse tee- I'm not sorry. Let's stand TOGETHER as women (and men) and support, lift and encourage. S'gonna make the ?a really cool place if we re write how we think. ? (well done if you read through all this)
