Hi guys! It’s Younghae (@logos_calligraphy) and I’m so excited to guest post for Sakura this week! ? I’m a left handed calligrapher based in California and when I’m not writing, you can find me painting and filling up my sketchbook using Sakura Koi’s 48 watercolor set and micron pens. —

With Spring around the corner, I painted some loose florals inspired by Pantone’s colors of 2017 using #sakurakoi watercolors and their water brush. ?? I love how flexible the water brush is - it can create both thin and thick strokes.
TIP: Paint the flowers in a variety of sizes and stick to odd numbers! That will help with visual interest. I also like to add layers to darken some of the leaves and the center of the florals to create depth. Without layers, your painting may look flat! Can’t wait to show you more pieces throughout the week!
