Here's a Maimed in Michigan moment. ?
This vet practice likes to proudly post photos on their facebook page like this of the cats that they just maimed by amputating their toe bones and claws. ?
They deceive all their cat clients to believe that declawing is NOT harmful to their cats. ???
The caption on the photo of this poor kitty who is obviously suffering read, "Doing great after my declaw/spay this morning! See ya soon mom."

Here is a oomment on the vet practice's page from Barbara, one of their clients.
"Until recently i have always had indoor only cats. I would consider it cruel to have them inside and NOT declaw. Why have an animal that you are always aggravated and angry with for doing what is something that cats do..... which is sharpen their claws. And then rehome them or abandon them because you can no longer stand the destruction. A cat that has only front claws removed can still go outside if it chooses. They can still climb and defend themselves. Having worked in a couple veterinary offices and assisting in this surgery, I can attest that it is far from cruel and can be the best thing in the long run for the relationship with the animals humans. You're office staff and doctor are among the most caring and compassionate people I know. Please don't let people who are uneducated and hateful influence your practice or decisions about the procedures and services you provide or second guess yourselves. You are truly appreciated."
The statement of the day is, "people who are uneducated."
Please keep educating your family, friends, and co-workers about declawing since, as we can see from this Michigan practice, there are thousands of cat owners who are being lied to and deceived by their pro-declaw vets like this.
Their employee tells cat owners to not wait to get their cats declawed because they like to do them at the 2-3 month mark.
