Nayib Bukele is one of TIME's Next Generation Leaders. Bukele, 35, came to power as mayor of El Salvador's capital in 2015 and has taken an holistic approach to the city's violence epidemic. He has built new sports facilities, public spaces and community centers. The murder rate dropped by 16% in the first year.⠀
