What is political? Self proclaimed feminist Muccia Prada, whose younger self famously attended communist party meetings decked out in Saint Laurent, released a manifesto with her fw17 show: “Fashion is about the everyday and the everyday is the political stage of our freedoms.” Is this moment just the beginning? From the most powerful designer to millions on the street, this year the western world is waking up to ask: where do we go from here? Activism definitely looks different for different people, but maybe in the next few months and years we start to find a common language.
