Hey everyone! It's @alphonsodunn here again. I wouldn't be myself if I didn't include a drawing of textures. If you're familiar with my work, you know I love rendering textures. Drawing textures with pen and ink can be tricky if you're not familiar with a few fundamental concepts, but it isn't difficult. First, choose your pattern; second, use it to "skin" or cover the form; third, adjust its values to capture light and shadow and convey depth. I cover this approach in much detail in my book and in the free videos on my YouTube channel. In my drawing and instruction I try to always focus on simple forms and simple concepts. And in this drawing it's no different.
