The giant panda Bao Bao left Washington today for her new home in Chengdu, China. Under a cooperation program with the China Wildlife Conservation Association, all pandas born at the National Zoo have to move to China to breed and preserve the specie’s genetic diversity. Bao Bao is traveling back aboard the Panda Express – a customized FedEx plane.
