Becoming a man is choosing models to emulate, and trying to form repeatable patterns around principles and values you admire.
This man was my coach at @vcuathletics. He recruited me all the way from Germany and taught me the importance of accountability in achieving your goals in life. "Mistakes are a good thing when you take ownership of them and apply the lessons to the road ahead." Paul Kostin took away my fear to fail and instilled in me the drive to always be prepared for unanticipated opportunities.
"Always keep the ball in play just one more time because you never know what good things might happen." Validation and guidance don't have to come from blood. A father figure doesn't have to be a father but is always a strong figure.
