Ready to fall in love? Meet #Humpty the hippo:
Just before Christmas, we received reports of a tiny hippopotamus who had become trapped in a fast-drying pool. Despite her best efforts, she was just too small and weak to free herself. Given the remoteness and urgency of her situation, rescuing her was quite an undertaking, but we were up to the task! Humpty's rescue involved a helicopter, a plane, and a whole team of people, but eventually the little calf was delivered safe and sound to our #DSWT Kaluku Field Headquarters. 
Raising a hippo is a first for us, but we’re happy to report that Humpty is doing well! She’s a very obstinate little lady, and we all have to suffer her ire when we make her leave her custom pool for bedtime. She’s also become quite smitten with Frans, our Field Operations Manager, and has taken to stalking outside his bedroom in hopes of being let in!
