FT: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Aston Villa - Ten-man Villa were beaten late on at the City Ground with Ben Brereton grabbing the winner in injury time. The substitute volleyed home from inside the box to break Villa hearts. In the first half, Jonathan Kodjia put Villa ahead with a beautifully-taken effort but Britt Assombalonga levelled from close range before half-time. Tommy Elphick headed at Stephen Henderson and the defender would also be denied by Henderson after the break, as was debutant Scott Hogan, who saw a fierce snap-shot kept out. The Forest stopper then reacted well to keep Elphick out for a second time.
