The importance of a #mentor to help guide you to where you want to go on your journey thru life. I learned so much from my friend @unclerush who let me shadow him while he built his hip hop empire @defjamrecords and exposed me to so much. Aside from @nyutisch shadowing Russell was my education. He let me sit in on all the meetings he had with his artists, record company marketing team while they critiqued the music videos, sit in on auditions for the #DefComedyJam where I got to see young comedians like #ChrisTucker and #ChrisRock and sit in on meetings with bosses like Walter Yetnikoff and Tommy Mottola as he negotiated his deal with #COLUMBIARecords. He saw something in me and would always ask me my opinion about a music video or new record that was coming out and ultimately believed in my talent and allowed me to direct for him when I was just a kid! I am grateful to you Russ for your friendship and support all these years. I wouldnt of become a success if it wasnt for your mentorship, guidance and belief in me! You gave me the confidence and validation to believe in myself and I am grateful to you. RussellSimmons, No better friend and mentor in the world! When we met in #WashingtonSquarePark on the set of #RunsHouse video you thought I was a groupie but it was Glen's idea to make up for all the times you paid for his ticket to the movies and his tofu sandwiches.
