***MUSLIM BAN ACTION*** In July Speaker Paul Ryan made a statement against the Muslim ban and Trump’s attack on a Muslim Gold Star family. Trump has now signed a chaotic and cruel executive order shutting out certain people from countries Trump DOES NOT do business with.

Here’s how we fight back: Send your old flip flops to the Paul Ryan’s district office. (Or if you’re close to DC or his district, deliver them yourself!) Send them to the attention of Paul Ryan at address below. Remember boxes are a better visual than phone calls, texts or tweets. Add your own personal message!

If you CANNOT part with your flip flops, Amazon.com sells them for around $10. You can choose the gift option and write the following note (they only allow 240 characters): "You were against the Muslim ban in July. Now, you’ve flip flopped on this fundamental right of religious freedom. That’s why I have enclosed a pair of flip flops as a reminder of your cowardice. Truly, YOUR NAME"

How will this work? If there are hundred of boxes of shoes showing up for Paul Ryan it's a visual representation of contempt for the ban. In the news business it's called a peg. It gives reporters an opportunity to talk about it. Throwing shoes is also an insult, so there’s some good symbolism. If we all stay home fuming on our respective couches, they don’t know we’re upset.
