One of my favorite New York moments happened a few weekends ago when I took the kids to an art exhibit that I knew had a long line to get in. I came prepared with snacks and Uno for the hour long wait. Not only did I keep my kids fed and entertained, but I kept the people around us fed and entertained too.
"Do you guys want to play Uno with us?" I asked the couple behind us, who were debating if they should leave the line.
"ABSOLUTELY," they said in unison.
Then another woman emerged behind them. "Uhhhh...can I get in on that??"
I felt like this was the one time childless New Yorkers were thrilled they got stuck on line next to a mom with her kids.
