for as long as trump has been a public figure people have been laughing at him. because, well, he's a spray-tanned narcissistic buffoon who ruins businesses.
we've seen his dark sides, his misogyny, his racism, his propensity to go after anyone who criticizes him, but because he's such a clumsy buffoon we just kept
laughing at him through our horror.
but these first few days of his presidency have proven that he's not funny anymore.
in just a few days he's signed executive orders and proposed policy that will: prevent scientists from even talking about climate change, ban muslim refugees and immigrants,
sanction torture, decimate the environment, disregard indigenous people, threaten war with china, cut funding to women's health worldwide, deport the children of immigrants, and build a $30 billion dollar wall between us and one of our closest allies and neighbors.
so we can ridicule him for being an orange dimwit who lies about the size of his inaugural crowd. but he's not just an internet personality who can be laughed at and
ridiculed on social media. as, to state the obvious, he is now the president of the united states, and he is already governing from an egregious far-right position.
our laughter doesn't matter, and is just a distraction as trump does his best to destroy our country and everything we care about.
we can laugh, and we can send funny memes, but we need to unify and fight back. trump and the republicans have only one weakness: the next mid term election.
and they will do everything to further restrict voting.
but we need to unify and take back the house and the senate and state and local legislatures.
i know, november 6, 2018 is almost 2 years away. but it's what we all need to focus on, whether we're bernie supporters or hillary supporters or jill stein supporters
or people who sat out the election.
in the face of a trump presidency and a republican controlled house and senate we simply don't have the luxury of provincial dissent.
we need to unite as one, and work as hard as we possibly can to take back our country from trump and the republicans.
