It’s Penguin Awareness Day and to celebrate we’d like introduce you to Moeraki the Fiordland Penguin! Moe was rescued after being found washed up at Freycinet in Tasmania. Blind in one eye, she was unable to be released back into the wild but she’s found a home at Taronga and a companion in our other rescued penguin, Munro. You can see Moe and Munro at Great Southern Oceans and learn more about the threats facing Fiordlands in the wild, including habitat destruction and introduced predators. #penguinawarenessday ?
