#TBT 8 years ago I got to go to the first inauguration of President Barack Obama. I was working for #SiriusRadio with #TheFoxxhole and it was such an amazing experience. It was a complete melting pot of black, white, red, brown, yellow and there was such a feeling of unity, love and peace. It's hard to do the feeling justice that we all had with just words. It was a feeling I'll never forget. We got to witness a nation take a step forward by supporting someone different than the Norm and outside the box and no matter why party you support-THAT my friends is what you call a milestone in American History. Whenever we go outside our comfort zone- it shows progress. It was such a privilege to witness this from really close seats (thank God for media passes) and participate. I donated money to the campaign for the first time in my life, attended the Democratic convention in Denver which was beautiful- I remember seeing two blind men- one white- one black- helping each other walk down this lil hill and I just reflected and took in the moment like WOW- progress! I just wanted to publicly say thank you to the Obama family for being the perfect example of Class, self respect, success, hard work, restraint in the face of so much negativity- and for giving us all so much inspiration. That is as close to a perfect family as I've ever seen and they will be missed. The pride they have helped many feel- is invaluable. There are now many more young boys and girls that have never known this nation to NOT be open to a minority elevating to the highest office in the land. And when it comes to self esteem in young kids- that is so valuable. Once again- Mr Barack Obama- we salute you and all your hard work and accomplishments which we will not let them marginalized or downplay.
