Another one of my most memorable renovation projects was for my client Lauren Cohan, a super successful film and television actress, and the moment she mentioned she wanted a colorful kitchen with a lack of upper cabinets I knew we were a designer-client match made in heaven. One thing to think about before committing to a lack of uppers is how cool you'll be keeping all of your essentials out in the open. It can become a lot of work to keep things looking uncluttered, so make sure that's something you're willing to live with before making the leap from concealed storage to open.
