Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and in addition to honoring his memory and the legacy of his work, today is also a National Day of Service. Dr. King Jr. said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” and today is a wonderful chance to use whatever resources we have to give back and help those in our community. If you want to help out in your area, check out the @nationalservice feed and MLKDay.gov for a list of organizations that could use your help today.
My hope is that today’s connections might lead to more regular work and volunteering within our communities that create greater understanding and dialogue between all of us.
