Here are ten things you need to know about the new fitness standards that took effect Jan. 1:
1. No more flexed arm hang.
2. Every Marine will do pull-ups or push-ups.
3. Females can weigh 5-9 pounds more depending on height.
4. Scoring 285 or above on both tests will exempt Marines from weight and body fat standards.
5. Tougher PFT scoring.
6. New age groups.
7. Marines 46 or older can row instead of run on the PFT.
8. New BCP waiver process.
9. Tougher CFT: more ammo lifts, more push-ups, faster run times.
10. Marines can run more than one test to improve
