Meet Kyle Bonkowski, for #TigersFanFridays a math teacher at Ottawa Elementary School in Clinton Twp., MI. Mr. Bonkowski, a longtime fan, uses the Tigers to teach statistics and fractions to 5th graders.

Students calculate strike to ball ratio, decimals as win percentage, and wins/losses fractions in Mr. Bonkowski’s class. Then, they use numbers from pitchers and opponents to estimate who might win each game.

On Opening Day, Mr. Bonkowski’s class will have a party, as he has done every year.

Kyle, during his summer break, loves to follow the Tigers when they travel on the road. He’s been to 24 ballparks in his lifetime to watch the Tigers play.
