Hearing these words from Sammy Davis Jr. confirms that I've been on the right track with my way of teaching. You can never get enough basics in your life. Lots of style with no basics is what is in now, but anyone who is great knows that it's not the look.

Not inspired lately? I get it. When there's nothing to be inspired by I just put in a Fred Astaire moment to remind myself there is so much more to learn. Sometimes you have to go back to move forward in the right direction.

It warms my heart to know that I'm in similar company along with inspirations who have passed on. I feel a strong connection to many of the greats who are no longer here. You can't be oblivious to what existed before you because you'll be lying to yourself. Before us it was them?? who made the door for others to open and for us to walk through. The future of Dance depends on on us making smart choices not selfish choices.
