“It is all about sharing [teen] issues equally, so whether it’s about catcalling or sexuality, it is all important in my eyes,” says 23-year-old Izzy Whiteley, of her @Thatswhatss account. Her feed, and the accompanying website, shares the voices of young girls and non-binary teens to show what it’s like to be an adolescent today. “I have struggled with body image and eating disorders but if I let those girls’ experiences drive my focus, I would silence the girls talking to me about, for example, LGBTQ+ issues which I have not experienced,” says Izzy. “It was born out of my hardships but it is all about the teens. I want the girls and non-binary teens to listen, learn from and share with each other to create a sense of solidarity. We are always at our strongest together.” ?
